See Gigi Hadid's August Photo Dump Featuring Baby Khai on IG
Gigi Hadid just gave an adorable mom-life update.
Yesterday, the model offered Instagram fans a glimpse into her quiet, relaxing life with her family on their Pennsylvania ranch. In a series of shots, Hadid poses in her pool during golden hour, harvests fresh vegetables and flowers from the farm, and walks through the estate while holding her baby daughter, Khai Hadid Malik, whom she welcomed with boyfriend Zayn Malik last September. She also commemorated her daughter's 11 months with a sweet black-and-white photo, in which the age milestone is spelled out in alphabet blocks.
"Bit of august x," the supermodel captioned the series.
Hadid frequently uses social media to update followers on her new, quieter lifestyle as a mother to Khai. In another photo dump from May, she included cozy family photos on the farm, plus a heartfelt caption about the love and adoration she's harbored for her daughter. "The rumors are true: my best friend, purpose, muse, greatest pride & joy! I feel so lucky and inspired bein your mama, my Khai," she wrote. "An old soul full of sunshine, you light up everyone's days!"
The model has been equally transparent about her inner world as she adjusts to motherhood. For Harper's BAZAAR's August cover story, she said that she's turned to journaling to help cope with the "anxieties and days where I felt like, 'Am I good enough to be a mom?'" She added that she's cherished family outings with Khai and Malik to New York museums and mountains for hiking, and appreciates learning about her daughter's affinities—from her fascination with dinosaur displays to her love of Arabic nursery rhymes. "She loves the birds, the animals," Hadid said. "It's nice to be outside after a long winter."
In an interview with i-D magazine back in June, Hadid said that she intends to raise Khai in ways that honor her mixed heritage and hold space for natural expression. "I think that Khai will grow up feeling out the way that she can or wants to be a bridge for her different ethnicities," she shared. "I think that it will be nice to be able to have those conversations, and see where she comes from [with] it, without us putting that onto her. What comes from her is what I'm most excited about, and being able to add to that or answer her questions, you know?"
